Calendar Details Pane

You use the Calendar details pane to name calendars, select the calendar type, choose whether calendars are active for the scenario, and choose whether calendars are global for the resources.

Fields on the Calendar Details Pane

Field Description
Name

The name of the calendar.

By default, when you create a calendar, a unique name is created by appending an underscore and the next sequential integer to the word Calendar.

Active
  • Selected: The calendar is applied to the resources and processes it is assigned to during scheduling.
  • Cleared: The calendar is not applied to the resources and processes it is assigned to during scheduling.
  • Tip: When you clear the Active check box, you make a calendar ineffective without removing the calendar from the resources and processes to which it is assigned. If you make different calendars ineffective when you create the schedule, you can compare the effect of different calendars on your scenario.

Type

Two types of calendars are available:

  • Working: The calendar defines the time working.
  • Holidays: The calendar defines the time not working.

The type of calendar selected determines whether the Working Times data grid or Holidays data grid is displayed.

Global
  • Selected: The calendar is allocated to all resources.
  • Note: When you select the Global check box, the calendar is assigned to all resources but not to processes. To assign a calendar to a process, drag the calendar onto the process in the Resources and Processes pane.

  • Cleared: The calendar is allocated only to the resources onto which you drag the calendar in the Resources and Processes pane.
